Fray Cesáreo de Armellada


Was born in the city of León, Spain, in 1908. After many years, he came to Venezuela where he settled. He lived and worked as a missionary among the indigenous Pemones who inhabited La Gran Sabana, the region of the tepuyes. Fray Cesáreo de Armellada was an expert of the pemon language and culture and has an important insight of their rich oral tradition.
