Fernando Krahn


Born in Santiago de Chile. He began his career in law but decided to dedicate himself to illustration. He was well-known internationally as an illustrator of children’s books and also as a caricaturist for newspapers and magazines in Europe and the United States. He was the co-author, along with his wife Maria de la Luz Uribe, of more than fifteen children’s books published in Spain, Venezuela and the United States. For his work he received, among other prizes, the Premi Apel Les Mestres in 1982 and the Premio Austral de la Literatura Infantil in 1986. He died in 2010.
