Monica Hughes


Monica Hughes was born in England and spent her first years of life in Egypt. During World War II, she enlisted in the Women’s Naval Service and then, in 1952, she moved to Canada where she currently resides. She has written non-fiction, adventure and mistery novels. Due to her work, she was awarded with the American Library Association prize, the Canadian Book Award, a mention in the IBBY Honour List and a nomination for the Hans Christian Andersen Medal in 1984.
