Eugenio Montejo was born in Venezuela in 1938. Was a Venezuelan poet and essay writer. In Venezuela he was awarded with the National Literature Award in 1998 and in 2004 he received the Octavio Paz Award for Poetry and Essay. He published, among others: Elegos , Muerte y memoria , Algunas palabras , Terredad , Trópico absoluto y Alfabeto del mundo . He is also author of two collections of essays: La ventana oblicua and El taller blanco , and of a volume of heteronimic writing: El cuaderno de Blas Coll .
